Shanice

As a faith walker led by Christ, Shanice is dedicated to dismantling mental health stigma and advocating for change in difficult spaces. 

Shanice is a psychotherapist who founded Pivotal Breakthrough Counseling Services to help individuals develop awareness and self-discovery through profound insight and pivotal moments.

Incorporating elements of faith and mental health techniques, Shanice utilizes a tailored approach to guide the BIPOC community through life's stressors, setbacks, and struggles by leading with compassion, care, and concern. Shanice specializes in anxiety, depression, life transitions and adjustments, relationship issues, stress, and trauma/PTSD.

Shanice’s clinical expertise includes an eclectic approach with treatment modalities of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Solution-Focused Techniques, and Christian Counseling elements of biblical principles and truth.

Shanice offers therapy, coaching, and speaking engagements, as well as Supervision for LCMHCAs.

Shanice believes that "you are your biggest breakthrough yet."

  • Certification in Addiction Studies from North Carolina Central University

  • Ph.D. student in Counselor Education and Supervision at Walden University
